Overview

2fawcett are recruiting for a Accounts Assistant, to join a business located in Chesterfield on a permanent, full time basis.

As the accounts assistant, you will be reporting to the Finance Manager, providing accounts and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions with precision and attention to detail
  • Assist in reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records using various accounting software platforms including Workday, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and QuickBooks
  • Support month-end closing activities by preparing relevant documentation and reports
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
  • Maintain organised records of financial documents for audit purposes
  • Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks related to financial operations as required

Skills

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage & Xero.
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial transaction management
  • Familiarity with financial services industry practices is desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures in a fast-paced environment
