Role: Accounts Assistant
Pay: £28,000 – £30,000

2Fawcett Recruitment are working with a business located in Mansfield who are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will support daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing accounts payable and data entry tasks.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic financial services environment, utilising leading accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero. The ideal applicant will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to the smooth functioning of our financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with processing accounts payable transactions accurately and promptly
- Perform data entry tasks related to financial records using various accounting software including Workday, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft
- Reconcile invoices and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Support month-end closing activities by preparing relevant documentation
- Maintain organised records of financial transactions for audit purposes
- Collaborate with the finance team to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency
- Support the implementation and utilisation of new accounting software tools as required
- Contribute to maintaining up-to-date financial data within systems such as Xero, Sage, and PeopleSoft
Skills
- Proven experience with accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial documentation standards
- Familiarity with financial services industry practices is advantageous
- Proficiency in using various accounting platforms and systems for data management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to collaborate within a team environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and procedures
