Accounts Assistant
Hours: 16-20 hours per week
Location: Shepton Mallet (Somerset)

2Fawcett are seeking a part-time Accounts Assistant to work with our client who are expanding their finance team. The successful candidate will work closely with the accountant, supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including processing invoices and reconciling supplier statements
  • Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and QuickBooks to record financial transactions accurately
  • Perform data entry tasks related to financial records, ensuring completeness and correctness
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare relevant reports
  • Support the maintenance of financial records using systems like Workday and Xero
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the optimisation of financial workflows and suggest improvements where applicable
  • Ensure all documentation related to accounts is organised and easily accessible for audits or reviews

Experience & Qualifications

  • AAT Level 3 or equivalent
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services operations
  • Familiarity with various accounting systems including Xero, Sage, and PeopleSoft is desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Previous experience in a similar role
