Role: Accounts Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30 – Flexible / Part-time working options available
Salary: Up to £28,000
Contract: Permanent
Location: NG8

2Fawcett are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Accounts Assistant to join their busy accounts department. This role will provide vital support across day‑to‑day finance operations and general accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing invoices, coding, matching to purchase orders, and investigating discrepancies
  • Processing CIS subcontractor invoices
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Managing accruals and prepayments
  • Producing monthly stock reports
  • Raising sales applications
  • Checking and scanning delivery notes
  • Dealing with supplier queries
  • Supporting the implementation and improvement of finance procedures
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure efficient processing of documentation
  • Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
  • Handling incoming calls and responding to queries
  • Managing the accounts inbox and responding to emails
  • Carrying out additional ad‑hoc duties as required

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (particularly Word & Excel)
  • Experience with SAGE 200, Inflow or Paperless would be advantageous but not essential
  • AAT Level 3 preferred but not essential
