2fawcett Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join an established business in Leicester. This is a varied and busy role handling day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with a variety of accounting activities so we are looking for someone who can manage multiple workloads and is organised.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and record purchase and sales invoices, as well as credit notes, efficiently and accurately.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including reconciling supplier and customer accounts.
  • Assist with bank statement reconciliations and maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Help with month-end activities, including posting journals and completing reconciliations.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of management reports and other financial documentation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and internal controls.
  • Provide general administrative support within the finance team.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a finance or accounts role.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using accounting software.
