Working Hours: 8.30am-5.30pm Monday-Friday (1 hour lunch), with the potential to finish at 5pm on Fridays

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring accurate data entry and processing of accounts payable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in financial services and accounting software to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The role involves working with various accounting platforms and requires a proactive approach to managing financial records efficiently.

Duties

  • Assist with processing accounts payable transactions using recognised accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks
  • Perform data entry tasks related to financial records, invoices, and expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Support the finance team in maintaining and reconciling ledger entries within systems like Workday and Xero
  • Help prepare financial reports and statements as required
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments in accordance with organisational policies
  • Maintain organised records of financial transactions for audit purposes
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies or issues related to accounts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures

Qualifications

  • Proven experience or familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Workday
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels
  • Basic understanding of accounts payable processes and financial services operations
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in finance or administrative support roles is advantageous but not essential
  • Good communication skills and professional attitude
