Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring accurate data entry and processing of accounts payable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in financial services and accounting software to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The role involves working with various accounting platforms and requires a proactive approach to managing financial records efficiently.
Duties
- Assist with processing accounts payable transactions using recognised accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks
- Perform data entry tasks related to financial records, invoices, and expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail
- Support the finance team in maintaining and reconciling ledger entries within systems like Workday and Xero
- Help prepare financial reports and statements as required
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments in accordance with organisational policies
- Maintain organised records of financial transactions for audit purposes
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies or issues related to accounts
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience or familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Workday
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels
- Basic understanding of accounts payable processes and financial services operations
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in finance or administrative support roles is advantageous but not essential
- Good communication skills and professional attitude
