An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plant Fitter to join a well-established and growing hire business operating within the construction and plant equipment sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, problem solving, and ensuring a high standard of equipment reliability and safety.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of plant machinery and small tools to ensure they are safe, compliant, and ready for hire.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on plant equipment and tools.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Inspect returned equipment and ensure it meets safety and operational standards.
  • Prepare machinery for hire, ensuring all compliance checks are completed.
  • Complete relevant service documentation and maintenance records accurately.
  • Support depot operations with general technical and mechanical tasks.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of plant, tools, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrics.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
