2fawcett Infrastructure are recruiting for a Test & Commissioning Engineer
Our client operates within the Distribution & Connections space as one of the UK’s largest Independent Connection Providers (ICPs). They support distribution network operations across essential national infrastructure, installing, upgrading and maintaining distribution networks, delivering customer connections, carrying out planned works and completing network reinforcement projects.
You’ll be joining their substation build team, working on UKPN’s 11kV, 33kV & 132kV distribution network across the East of England.
This role is critical to ensuring high-voltage plant and apparatus are safely tested, commissioned and integrated into live networks, working alongside protection schemes and existing infrastructure.

What will you be doing?
This role will see you providing specialist technical support across major projects within the Distribution & Connections division.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending client meetings and representing the technical needs of the project
- Encouraging innovation and identifying ways to enhance delivery
- Producing detailed commissioning plans and managing commissioning activities
- Testing and commissioning high-voltage plant, equipment and associated apparatus
- Ensuring all work complies with industry legislation, regulations and company procedures
- Reviewing and correcting technical drawings and documentation
- Leading and managing people safely across the project lifecycle
- Mentoring and developing team members to strengthen technical capability

What you’ll bring
- Proven track record of Testing & Commissioning on high-voltage distribution networks
- Strong understanding of engineering policies, procedures and UK legislation
- Confident decision-maker able to identify and develop process improvements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
- Solid knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
- Collaborative approach, working seamlessly with clients, designers and site teams
- HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Full UK driving licence – travel required to multiple sites
