Overview

We’re recruiting for a proactive and motivated Quality Engineer to join a well-established automotive components manufacturer based in Derby, with a second site in Poland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2–4 years’ experience in quality who’s ready to take the next step in their career in the automotive sector.

The role offers clear progression into running the Quality Department as Quality Manager, plus performance-based bonuses and perks like hub vouchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into quality issues, non-conformances, rejects, and returns
  • Support internal & external audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, TS 16949)
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer quality expectations
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions
  • Implement sustainable improvements to reduce rework and non-conformities
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain departments
  • Conduct root cause analysis and apply corrective/preventive actions
  • Analyse quality data and identify improvement trends
  • Verify and maintain supplier material documentation
  • Liaise with the Polish facility (travel approx. once per year)

Requirements

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a manufacturing/engineering quality role (preferably automotive)
  • Familiar with 8D, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and CAPA
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001; ISO 14001 & TS 16949 is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • HNC/HND or degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (desirable)
  • Willing to travel to Poland once annually
  • Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or FAIRS (First Article Inspection Reports)
