Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Derby. This role is ideal for someone passionate about quality assurance, process improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards within a high-precision engineering environment. The position offers excellent scope for professional development, including a clear pathway to progress into leading the Quality department and stepping into senior or managerial roles as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations into quality concerns and non-conformances
  • Develop and maintain quality control systems and documentation
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Support internal and external audits (e.g., ISO9001, customer audits)
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality from concept to delivery
  • Analyse quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of quality tools such as 8D, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and CAPA
  • Good working knowledge of ISO9001 or similar standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • HNC/HND or degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline (desirable)
