Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Derby. This role is ideal for someone passionate about quality assurance, process improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards within a high-precision engineering environment. The position offers excellent scope for professional development, including a clear pathway to progress into leading the Quality department and stepping into senior or managerial roles as the business continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations into quality concerns and non-conformances
- Develop and maintain quality control systems and documentation
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Support internal and external audits (e.g., ISO9001, customer audits)
- Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality from concept to delivery
- Analyse quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of quality tools such as 8D, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and CAPA
- Good working knowledge of ISO9001 or similar standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- HNC/HND or degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline (desirable)
