Job Role: Quality Engineer

Type: Full time / Permanent

Working hours: Monday – Friday

Overview:

2fawcett are recruiting for a Quality Engineer based in Selby. The ideal candidate will be previously have worked in quality control in a FMCG environment. This is an exciting opportunity to own the Quality control process.

The Role:

You will implement, manage and perform the quality procedures such as ISO 9001, BRC, & HACCP. Responsibilities include development and co-ordination of company quality processes and procedures, auditing, problem solving, process testing, communication with customers, responding to customer quality questionnaires and all related duties.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Manage and administer quality assurance processes and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and conduct on-going site audits to assure compliance to company, customer & ISO standards; communicate status of process to appropriate management.
  • Manage technical communication and interactions with customers to support sales managers in the sales cycles regarding product quality aspects.
  • Work collaboratively with the Plant Manager and Operational staff in the development of process and quality systems improvement.
  • Maintain and strengthen relations with customers assuring that the business and customer quality requirements are integrated.
  • Provide feedback on site quality issues and co-ordinate the performance of experiments and analysis towards improving processes and products,
  • Performs all duties without injury to self, others or the environment. Actively participates in Company Quality, Safety and Environmental programmes.
  • Analysis of alignment between product specification with customer contract specifications: Support the sales team in defining the products to offer to customers.
  • Management of documentation, questionnaires, and specifications to be inserted into web platforms or customer quality systems.
  • Management and analysis of customer complaints and their monthly reporting.
  • Management of quality system procedure and BRC certification audit.
  • Release and maintenance of quality package documentation for product/ production plant.
  • Release of Operational procedures and staff training on the quality system.

Requirements of the Quality Assurance Technician

  • Strong previous experience of Quality Control, knowledge and experience of quality assurance in food safety, allergen control and HACCP.
  • Previous titles might include: Quality control , quality assurance, quality technician , quality inspector
  • Experience and familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or similar
  • Numerate, Literate with excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Working knowledge of Sage and SAP would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
