Role: Production Manager
Type: 6-month FTC
Salary: £55,000 (Pro-rata)
Location: Derby

2fawcett are recruiting for a Production Manager to join a Manufacturing business in Derby. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the function of the role is to lead the efficiency of production progress on site in meeting and exceeding its customer requirements on quality, cost and delivery.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Own end to end account management processes, demonstrating a high level of leadership and strategic thinking
  • Management of site production controllers – guarantee each account KPI’s are met and actioned accordingly
  • Stakeholder relationships – Leading presentations, ensuring that Delivery Performance is maintained at an excellent level for all customers
  • Utilisation of systems – conduct regular performance and forecasting reviews with customers and production controllers to maintain orderbook stability, sales, monitor build rates and protect and forecast risks to business capacity constraints
  • Create robust plans and strategies to be proactive in improving site performance and customer targets
  • Work to and promote company policies, procedures and Health, Safety & Environmental standards including IS014001 and 18001, in order to promote a strong HS&E culture and provide a healthy and secure working environment for all
  • Work in conjunction with the wider site team to reduce the number of accidents, near misses and environmental hazards utilising 6S principles
  • To work within cross-functional teams to support business development, growth and improvement projects as required, and lead the facility in meeting and exceeding customer requirements- 99% OTIF
  • Drive improvement in delivery performance through continuous improvement measures, to exceed customer expectations and targets

  • Extensive knowledge of production processes, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry

  • Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety and environmental management
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods
  • Proficient in MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft office

 

Qualifications
Strong background in SAP, Supply chain, and Continuous improvement
Proficiency in ERP systems, MRP, and Microsoft Office
Mechanical knowledge and experience in Business processes
Demonstrated ability in Quality control and Assembly
Excellent communication skills and proven leadership capabilities
