Overview

2fawcett are recruiting for a Production Manager to join a leading FMCG business in Derby on a full time, permanent basis. As the Production Manager, you will plan, direct and coordinate the operations improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organisational operations.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Production Manager

  • Provide support to the Operations Director in the day to day running of the organisation
  • Schedule projects and ensure actions are carried out as planned and completed within agreed timescales
  • Work together with the Senior Management Team (SMT) staff concerning work/operational issues and other activities
  • Develop reports regarding operations within departments of responsibility
  • Assist and support the Operations Director with strategic planning and capital expenditure plans
  • Mentor and provide support to direct reports
  • Oversee product standards and implement quality-control programmes to ensure that the despatched products are to the highest specification and quality
  • Oversee that agreed delivery deadlines are met
  • Review and provide support to produce production schedules and processes
  • Plan and manage all production processes, working closely with other departmental managers to improve overall output / share resources
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) activities and support initiatives to improve efficiencies
  • Ensure all employees / processes adhere to Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
  • Oversee a rigorous hygiene operation
  • Oversee that stock control is managed which accounts for any loss or gain on the stock take report

Requirements of the Production Manager

  • 5 years of experience within food a food production environment
  • Minimum Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent preferred
  • Required IOSH Working Safely, or equivalent In-house safety courses
  • Sound logical decision-making process rather than emotional reaction
  • Effective time-management skills to achieve production targets within set timeframe and under pressure
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
  • Good computer literacy, including competency with MS Word and Excel
