Job Title: Procurement / Purchasing Coordinator

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

The Role

We are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Long Eaton who are looking to recruit a Procurement / Purchasing Coordinator to support and manage their procurement and stock control activities.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for supplier management, purchasing, stock control and ensuring cost-effective, timely procurement while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Identify products, services and equipment to be purchased
  • Verify and manage key suppliers for all procurement activities
  • Monitor, forecast and manage inventory levels, identifying purchasing needs and associated costs
  • Keep accurate track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, costs and efficiency
  • Establish and maintain quality control, ensuring purchased stock meets company standards
  • Manage procurement budgets and prepare cost estimates
  • Maintain procurement metrics, analyse data, assess performance and implement improvements
  • Utilise, maintain and document the company’s 3-quote purchasing system
  • Compile and maintain purchase records, supplier databases and procurement contracts
  • Produce regular procurement and performance reports
  • Carry out stock control duties and produce accurate stock sheets
  • Provide regular procurement and stock updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and company procedures
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the company

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Confident negotiating with suppliers
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with data, reports and stock systems
  • Good understanding of quality control and compliance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
