Overview:

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and technically minded individual to join a fast-growing engineering company in Derby as a Junior Technical Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in engineering, CAD, or product design who is eager to develop technical expertise and grow within a supportive and structured environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on technical support for engineering projects
• Support senior engineers in resolving design and production challenges
• Liaise with manufacturing and production teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Contribute to continuous improvement and product development projects
• Engage in technical documentation, testing, and prototyping processes
• Deliver excellent customer service and technical support where needed
• Hands on development engineering on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Requirements:

• A qualification in Engineering, Product Design, or a related field (degree or BTEC Level 3+)
• Experience with CAD software (ideally SOLIDWORKS)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and develop in a technical engineering role
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
• Previous industry experience (placement, internship or work experience) is beneficial but not essential
