Overview:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team delivering high-quality engineering services to the Rail sector. This role involves providing on-site mechanical support, including repair, modification, and testing, in a dynamic environment. You’ll be involved in a variety of challenging and rewarding tasks, working alongside experienced professionals and advancing your career in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site mechanical engineering support for the repair, modification, and testing of equipment in the Rail sector.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform diagnostics, and suggest effective solutions.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and welding teams to ensure projects meet industry standards.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with national and international engineering standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, equipment, and procedures.
  • Support in the installation, maintenance, and testing of mechanical systems and equipment.

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Some experience or strong interest in the rail or mechanical engineering sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to adapt to various shifts including days, noon, and nights.
  • Full UK driving license (due to the nature of on-site work).
