Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and ambitious Junior Machine Setter to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business working with bespoke machinery. Ideal for someone keen to understand how a full-scale production facility operates from the ground up, this role offers a direct path to becoming a Production Manager. You’ll receive in-depth training across all areas of technical machine setup, programming, and production planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and configure a variety of bespoke production machinery
  • Work with programmed machines and assist in machine programming as you learn
  • Support in technical planning and preparation of manufacturing orders
  • Prioritise production schedules and ensure machines run to plan
  • Gain exposure to full production workflows and operational logistics
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and production leaders
  • Assist with troubleshooting machine setup issues and process bottlenecks
  • Learn how to interpret technical drawings and production documentation
  • Play a key role in day-to-day production performance and output
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
  • Hands-on mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Some experience in a factory, workshop, or technical environment preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and absorb technical information
  • Proactive and organised with a desire to progress within a business
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Technical qualification or relevant practical experience advantageous
