2fawcett are recruiting for an HR Business Partner to join a busy team at their head office based near Burton Upon Trent. As HR Business Partner you will deliver a proactive and flexible HR service by providing relevant and appropriate HR support to internal customers, whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation.

The Role & Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner


    • Provide exceptional HR support and guidance to both the Finance Director and Managing Director
    • Providing the necessary support to Regional Directors and Managers on general employee relations issues
    • Facilitate and support employee grievances, disciplinary and performance management processes across the business
    • Support with annual HR Events, such as appraisals, pay review, succession planning, management development
    • Conduct regular Depot visits across the country – 12 sites. There will be occasions when you are required to stay overnight away from home
    • Support the upskilling of the Regional Teams, to enhance management capability
    • Lead with and assist with project work as determined by the organisation
    • Assisting in the compilation of relevant HR stats and ensure the department achieves agreed KPI’s
    • Promote HR initiatives across the company
    • Review exit interview completions, reporting any concerns and monitoring trends accordingly
    • Oversight of the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the company attracts and retains the best talent
    • Ensure the HR software systems and processes are up to date
    • Complying with and uphold company policies and procedures
    • Production of appropriate monthly reports and attendance at monthly board meetings
    • Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties
    • Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time
    • Ensuring all health and safety aspects associated with Covid-19 in association with the Health & Safety Manager

Requirements of HR Business Partner


  • Previous experience as a Senior HR Advisor / HR Business Partner
  • Corresponding and communicating with employees
  • Multi-site / regional experience
  • Good level of education including English & Maths or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CIPD Level 3
  • Understands the needs for confidentiality and importance of GDPR
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office such as; Word, Excel etc. and HR systems
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
  • Effective communicator
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident, numerate and self motivated
  • Bright and positive attitude
  • Has a strong emphasis on the ‘Team Ethic’


  • Construction background experience
  • Transport industry experience
  • CIPD Level 5
  • Degree educated
  • Appreciation of the construction/hire industry
