Job description:

Our client is a well-established engineering organisation based in Derby and is looking to recruit a Graduate Engineer with either a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career within a supportive environment that offers structured training, mentoring, and long-term progression.

The Role

As a Graduate Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience while developing your technical and professional skills. The role will be tailored to your discipline and interests, with exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting engineering projects from concept through to delivery
• Assisting with design, analysis, testing, and documentation
• Producing technical reports, drawings, and calculations
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and quality
• Learning and applying industry standards and best practices
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• A degree (or expected degree) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and software tools relevant to your discipline
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable (but not essential)

• Industrial placement or internship experience
• Familiarity with CAD software or electrical design tools
• Knowledge of manufacturing or production environments
