Overview of the Graduate engineer

2fawcett are recruiting for a Graduate Engineer based in Burton upon Trent. This is an exciting role to work in a talented and experienced, engineering team.

You will be working as part of a technical team supporting the fabrication & welds department in a Technical aspect.

You will use your technical knowledge to support and improve steel products.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing technical reports and investigations
  • R&D to develop and test new fabrication process’s improving existing methods
  • Utilising knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys and engineering principles.
  • Developing weld techniques and procedures
  • All aspects of performing and testing PQR’s and producing WPS’s
  • Establish welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel to specification restrictions, material processes, pre and post heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods and welding of critical joints.
  • Co ordinate technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.
  • Embrace, promote and implement continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
