Key Responsibilities

System Improvement & Project Management

  • Act as the main liaison between Finance users, IT teams, external consultants, tax advisors, and auditors, translating complex business needs into actionable system solutions.
  • Lead and contribute to end-to-end Finance systems projects, including upgrades, integrations, and localisation initiatives (e.g. adapting Business Central to meet regional tax and regulatory standards).
  • Conduct requirements gathering, scope definition, and documentation for new functionalities, enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies within existing systems and workflows, implementing sustainable long-term solutions.

Stakeholder Management & Training

  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for Finance teams to support system adoption and best practice.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, issue management, and resolution.
  • Serve as the Finance Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring data integrity and efficient process flows within Business Central.

System Maintenance & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed documentation, including process maps, configuration records, and change management logs.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring system readiness and addressing potential system-related challenges proactively.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or in a similar role focused on project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Strong practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) in a configuration, implementation, or support capacity.
  • Solid financial understanding supported by a relevant accounting qualification (part-qualified or qualified) or substantial finance experience.
  • Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of reporting and analytics tools integrated with Business Central (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experienced in implementing ERP localisation projects, including statutory reporting and tax/VAT setup for various international markets such as Germany.
