Are you ready to elevate your finance career? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to join a growing, family-run business based in Derby. You will be leading the finance function within an exciting wholesale environment, playing a key role in shaping the future of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all month-end activities.
  • Prepare and review management accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Provide detailed sales analysis and financial forecasts.
  • Manage VAT returns and compliance.
  • Handle payroll processing.
  • Prepare year-end accounts for auditing, ensuring adherence to tax and accounting standards.
  • Develop weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Control overheads, set budgets, and collaborate with other managers to understand expenditure needs.
  • Cashbook maintenance, reconciliations, and oversight of purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Manage the finance team.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cost efficiencies and financial processes.
  • Manage banking relationships.
  • Act as the primary contact for external accountants and auditors.
  • Document and maintain financial policies and procedures, ensuring team compliance.
  • Manage the HR platform.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar finance management role.
  • Having a formal accounting qualification isn’t essential, our client encourages candidates qualified through experience to apply.
  • Broad knowledge of accounting and finance functions.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and Sage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
