Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: B24, North-East Birmingham
Salary: £27,000 – £28,000
Type: Permanent, Office based
Hours: Full time and Part Time hours available!
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance Assistant to join our well-established and growing client based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit, supportive, and friendly team within a reputable and stable organisation.
- Process purchase invoices, ensuring correct nominal and departmental coding.
- Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and execute weekly and monthly payment runs.
- Assist with month-end close processes and audit preparation.
- Respond to finance-related queries via email and other correspondence.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records including journals and statements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of both accounts payable and receivable processes.
- A formal accounting qualification (e.g. AAT or equivalent) is preferable.
- Proficient in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
