Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: B24, North-East Birmingham

Salary: £27,000 – £28,000

Type: Permanent, Office based

Hours: Full time and Part Time hours available!

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance Assistant to join our well-established and growing client based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit, supportive, and friendly team within a reputable and stable organisation.

  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring correct nominal and departmental coding.
  • Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare and execute weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and audit preparation.
  • Respond to finance-related queries via email and other correspondence.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records including journals and statements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of both accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • A formal accounting qualification (e.g. AAT or equivalent) is preferable.
  • Proficient in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
