We’re working with a fantastic business in the Melbourne area who are on the lookout for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their friendly and down-to-earth team. You’ll be working very closely with a part-time Finance Manager, so this is a brilliant opportunity for someone who’s looking to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in, and grow within a supportive environment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the rhythm of reconciliations, is comfortable drawing off bank statements, and understands the day-to-day impact of good cashflow management.
The Role:
- Daily banking and bank statement analysis
- Regular bank reconciliations across group entities
- Support with factoring – including monthly recs and liaising with factoring companies
- Assist with insurance admin and renewals
- Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger & Credit Control support
- Month-end assistance and reporting
- Cashflow tracking and reporting
- Helping the Finance Manager and Finance Director with wider ad hoc finance and admin tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong reconciliation experience is a must
- Familiarity with invoice factoring (preferred but not essential)
- Someone proactive, reliable, and happy to work independently at times
- Keen to learn and develop on the job – there’s support but you’ll also need to be hands-on
- Formal qualifications are great but “qualified by experience” will also be considered
