Overview
2fawcett are recruiting for a Credit Control Team Leader for a business based in Nottingham. As the Credit Control Team Leader, you will join a large and diverse working environment working with colleagues from all over the world! The main purpose of this role is to assess and control the level of credit risk on specific remit accounts and to ensure that all customer accounts are accurately and promptly maintained, ensuring the efficient release of orders to maximise sales whilst having regard to the Company credit policy.
The Role & Responsibilities of the Credit Control Team Leader
- Motivate and Drive Team Performance: Lead and focus on the performance of Credit Controllers by setting monthly targets, monitoring progress, and offering support as needed.
- Coaching and Training: Conduct regular appraisals, provide feedback, and train team members to enhance their skills.
- Ledger Reviews: Monthly reviews with Credit Controllers, advising on and agreeing to action plans for account management.
- Customer Credit Management: Collect and review customer and financial data to establish and set credit limits for both new and existing clients.
- Aged Debt Monitoring: Daily oversight of aged debt, driving resolutions, and setting timely actions for 90-day+ debt.
- Collaboration with Sales and Country Managers: Engage with Country Managers and Sales Directors to address credit issues and monitor seasonal order-book procedures.
- Dispute Resolution: Liaise with Customer Services to resolve and escalate disputes as needed.
- Cash Allocation and SOX Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate allocation of cash, credit notes, and journals while maintaining SOX compliance.
- Escalation and Legal Action: Serve as an escalation point for the team and approve legal action when necessary, monitoring proceedings through Credit Legal.
- Reporting and Meetings: Provide monthly management reports, participate in review meetings, and contribute to team leader discussions.
- Team Appraisals: Prepare appraisals, review action plans, and offer coaching where necessary.
Requirements of the Credit Control Team Leader
- Ideally credit control or accounts receivable experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience as a team leader is advantageous
- Language skills: Fluent Spoken & Written English + one other European Language is preferred
- Analytical Skills: Capable of Balance Sheet, P&L & Trend analysis; understanding the Broader Business picture/goals
