Salary: £28,000 – £35,000+ (Dependent on Experience) + Overtime & Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday)

 

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Sutton in Ashfield. If you have a solid background in CNC turning and enjoy working with high-precision components, this is an excellent opportunity to join a team that values quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce high-precision components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to create accurate parts
  • Perform machining tasks including turning, threading, boring, and milling
  • Conduct thorough quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any machine or tooling-related issues to minimize downtime
  • Ensure all machinery is well-maintained and functioning optimally
  • Work with the design and production teams to improve machining processes and efficiency
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety within the workshop

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner in a precision engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of CNC lathe programming and operation (Mazak or similar systems preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Proficiency in using a variety of precision measuring instruments
  • In-depth understanding of materials and machining techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure
