Overview of the CNC and Machine Operative

2fawcett are recruiting for a CNC and machine operative based in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating machinery and be looking for a new challenge. Primarily the role will be a CNC programmer and machine operative but working on the CNC is not necessarily a full time role – working on the CNC machine will be as and when needed due to business needs so full training will be given on the CNC and other machines that you will be working on.

Responsibilities & requirements of the CNC and Machine Operative

  • Part of the role will be cleaning the panels down from bespoke orders
  • Full training to be given
  • The hours will vary on a day to day basis on the amount of time spent on the CNC machine as every week orders differ so this will affect the hours spent on the CNC
  • Candidate needs to be flexible and multi skilled on all surrounding machinery in the Department – candidates must be able to move around from machine to machine to cover as necessary
  • Liaise with the Manager to fully understand and work to production schedules
  • To be able to programme and create programmes on the CNC machine(as and when needed)
  • Work from a job specification and raise any concerns or misunderstandings with the Manager – any issues should be resolved before any commencement of work
  • Operate machinery to the standard operating procedure
  • Operate machinery to the safe working procedure
  • Ensure safe handling procedures are adhered to at all times, whether manual or using mechanical aids
  • Ensure jobs are always efficiently cut from materials provided ensuring wastage of materials is reduced
  • Ensure daily/weekly/monthly safety and maintenance checks are completed and hand in completed paperwork

CNC MACHINE, EDGE BANDER MACHINE, SAW OPERATOR, PACKING

Working as the Operative

After completing 3 month introductory period you will be put forward for training and development review.  Assessment will be made of your training and a wage increase that follows.
