Role: Accounts Assistant
Salary: Up to £27,000 + Study Support
Location: Selby
Type: Permanent, Full Time, Monday – Friday


Our client is currently in search of an Accounts Assistant to become a valuable addition to their expanding finance department. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing and assisting with various aspects of the company’s management accounts while also offering practical assistance in the accounting functions related to strategic financial management.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant

  • Supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with accounts preparation and year-end financial audits
  • Cash flow management
  • Updating fixed asset register
  • Assisting with the production of management pack
  • Cost and variance analysis
  • Nominal and payroll analysis
  • Monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Ad-hoc reporting as and when required

Requirements of the Accounts Assistant

  • Ideally working towards AAT qualification but this is not essential
  • Keen to continue or begin accounting qualifications with study support (following a successful probation period)
  • Strong excel skills
  • Experience in a similar role
