2fawcett Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a detail-oriented and hardworking Accounts Assistant to join an established SME in Nottingham. This is a varied and busy role, so we are seeking someone who can manage multiple workloads and is happy to support the wider business as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Performing bank and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Process monthly payment runs.
- Maintaining the purchase and sales ledger.
- Managing and resolving invoice queries with suppliers and internal teams.
- Supporting with month-end and year-end closing tasks.
- Preparing VAT returns.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders when required.
- Monitoring and reconciling company credit cards and staff expenses.
- Filing and maintaining accurate financial records.
About You:
- Previous accounts / finance experience working in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage 50/Sage 200, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
- You will have a good understanding of accounting principles, be proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent at prioritising workloads, managing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- A formal AAT qualification would be an advantage but we welcome candidates qualified by experience to apply.
