This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the day-to-day responsibilities that come with a varied Accounts Assistant role and wants to be a key member of the finance team.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:
- Entering and processing invoices
- Managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Preparing and posting journal entries
- Reconciling supplier statements, remittances, and payments
- Maintaining and updating the cash book, including handling VAT
- Bi-monthly BACS payments and foreign currency transactions via online banking
- Supporting audit reviews through preparation and liaison
- Setting up new customer and supplier accounts
- Assisting with various project work as needed
- Managing credit control activities
- Handling stock adjustments and write-offs
Key Requirements of the Accounts Assistant:
- Experience in a similar role, performing duties of this nature
- Experience using accounting packages – training on software provided
- Experience working with foreign currencies is advantageous
- AAT – studying or qualified desirable but not essential
- Excellent IT skills including Excel
