2fawcett are working with a highly reputable manufacturing business located in Barnsley, who are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join the team! They have an ASAP start available and are keen to hear from motivated, hard working Accounts and Finance Assistants with relevant experience!

The Role & Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant

  • Maintaining all purchase ledger accounts
  • Addressing queries
  • Reconciling statements
  • Coding purchase ledger invoices
  • Sending invoices for authorisation
  • Assisting with month-end close-down processes
  • Posting invoices to the ledger and file appropriately
  • Filing and balancing supplier statements
  • Paying suppliers and entering payments
  • Matching invoices with delivery tickets
  • Balancing invoices to receipts audit trail
  • Liaising with purchasing regarding any price or delivery queries
  • Daily banking and reconciliation
  • VAT returns

Requirements of the Accounts Assistant

  • Good IT Skills including Excel
  • Previous experience in a similar role performing similar duties
  • Knowledge of accounting software and basic accounting principles
